Dorothy Hopkin Centre

A home for children and adults mentally & physically challenged.

Located in St Georges, Grenada, the home was founded by Ms Dorothy Hopkin in 1963.

At her passing in 1995 she was succeeded by a long serving board member and a state registered nurse Mrs Barbara Calliste who is still the centre’s President , with Ms Maureen Strachan as the home’s care manager.

The home has currently 34 residents and is planning to welcome 24 more residents as soon as the new conversion is completed (around June 2009). The facilities include male and female dormitories, a kitchen, a laundry room and a recreational room. Home equipment, linens etc...as well as visits are always welcome.

Ocean Spirits

Blue Horizons is honored to be working closely with an organization such as Ocean Spirits, which has been educating locals and tourists on marine conservation and coastal life for years.

Ocean Spirits primarily focuses on the fortification and active research regarding marine turtles.

The organization works closely with local communities, students, governmental departments, international scientific organizations and tourists to reduce the danger of extinction and to continue the nationwide education of Grenada's most significant creatures.
